The Nigerian Postal Service, (NIPOST), eGate and Visa have signed a tripartite partnership to facilitate digital financial services, issuing of payment cards and support financial inclusion.
The agreement was signed in Abuja, by Postmaster General NIPOST, Dr Ismail Adewusi, Essam El-Sagheer, CEO of eGate; and Alex McCrea, Vice President, Global Digital Partnership, Visa.
The agreement will enable NIPOST to provide digital financial services using Visa credit and prepaid cards to unbanked customer to support financial inclusion, government eServices and no-cash societies.
This will also expand the acceptance of electronic payments where Visa will provide cards payments solutions for the success of this new form of technological cooperation to meet the ambitions and requirements of the citizens of Nigeria.
Dr. Adewusi stated that NIPOST has a strategic plan to provide financial inclusion services as part of Nigeria’s digital transformation plan.
”Today we take this plan forward by signing with eGate, one of the leaders on digital transformation and our consultant who leads our digital transformation plan and Visa, the world leader in digital payments”, he said .
According to El-sagheer, eGate has become one of the digital transformation leaders in Africa.
